Having a Step-Daughter is a tough job, I can’t mother her as much as I do my own daughters, That’s her mothers job, I wouldn’t want to take that away from her. What I can do is give her my unconditional love, That’s easy when you have someone as amazing and loving as Aaliyah.
I do everything I can with her, We have our arts and crafts time when the littles are napping, We lay in my bed and watch movies, We bake, cook and tell each-other all our secrets.
So, I’d say we have a pretty fantastic relationship.
I’m so grateful I have her in my life and my girls have her as their eldest sister.
Thank you to Stuart for giving me the chance to love Aali as much as he does.
You two are the greatest.
Last minute yesterday, Stuart’s parents asked if they could take the girls, We jumped at the chance and of course said yes, Just thinking about the lie-in we would get on Sunday morning bought the biggest smile to our faces.
We spent the night in bed watching horror movies until we fell asleep.
We woke up at 9.30am to complete silence, No Ivey screaming “MAMA” “DADA” “UP”, No Indy sulking, and No Ava serenading us with the spongebob square pants theme tune at 6am.
Stuart made Gluten free pancakes for our breakfast which were SO Delicious and a cup of green tea. He’s the best.
I guess we’ll relax a little until we get our gorgeous girls back.
I’d just like to take a moment to talk about parents with tattoos.
As most of you know, both Stuart and myself have visible tattoos.
We get funny looks, whispered about and frowned at, Even more so when we’re out with our kids.
I’ve heard a some people say that parents shouldn’t have tattoos…Why? there’s nothing wrong with them, they’re not hurting anyone, It’s simply someones way of expressing themselves.
This photo was posted on the kiddicare facebook, It started many arguments and had some over opinionated people.
Some comments included:
’Strange isint it hun, not denying what a lovely pic it is tho, just something there telling me there’s a barrier stopping the contact between them :/ x’
’Isn’t it a father?’
‘Yuck! This is not beautiful to me.’
It’s simply a photo of a mother holding her newborn child, nothing more. It’s a beautiful photo, whether she has tattoos or not.
I really hate when people say to me, “But WHY? They’re not nice and not very feminine”, That’s YOUR opinion.
Our tattoos don’t affect the way we parent our children, Our children are happy, fed, clothed and get all the love in the world from us.
Some of the best parents and people I know have tattoos.
My girls LOVE our tattoos, Ava and Ivey always want transfer tattoos, That doesn’t bother me at all.
Does anyone want an overtired toddler who’s hit the terrible two’s early?..No? Me neither.
This is how our day has been since the moment she got up this morning.
Little Madam has also ripped the wallpaper off in the living room despite both Stuart and I telling her not to do so about a hundred times lastweek.
I am soooo over her tantrums, I feel sick, The house is a mess and grumpy dad is grumpy.
Where on earth is our Mary Poppins?
Ivey and myself are in bed watching YouTube videos, while daddy is watching shit tv with Indy.
Daddy face timed us, Ivey absolutely loves seeing herself on the camera, she thinks it’s hilarious.
Ava’s at her granny and grandpa’s and they’re taking her to nursery today.
My gig last night was awesome, we left early so we could get the train in time, I also couldn’t wait to get to bed because I knew the girls would be up early.
Indy was up just after 4am, just as I was about to get up with her, Stu told me to stay in bed and he’ll see to her. He’s the best dada!
